Our Vision

Improving and expanding access to innovative treatment interventions for patients impacted by chronic health conditions, with minimal impact on the patient by assisting patients to access innovative treatments and medical interventions as prescribed by their healthcare professional timeously, without catastrophic social and financial impact, for improved patient outcomes.

The Purpose

Innovative Access Solutions was founded in 2024 with the aim and intention of improving and expanding access to innovative treatment interventions for patients impacted by chronic health conditions.

The reality for many South African’s living with chronic conditions is that treatments remain out of reach. Despite a thriving private sector with billions of rands being spent annually on medical insurance, co-payments remain a prohibitive barrier for those needing to access new and innovative treatment interventions. The situation in the public sector is even more difficult with healthcare professionals often not even applying for treatment to be approved due to current financial constraints.

Donations and financial support for those in need of access to innovative treatments is often difficult to find, with many patients either paying out of pocket or crowdfunding in order for treatment to be started. This is neither responsible or sustainable, and too often, patients are not able to continue treatment, treatment is interrupted, or patients fail to start treatment at all.

Where co-payments or shortfalls are levied across both sectors, patients are often not in the position to be able to fund this gap, resulting in no investment at all being made.

IAS has been developed as a solution to these challenges. Envisioned to be a philanthropic fund that bridges the access gap, and ensures that payments are able to begin treatment timeously, without financial burden.
